GMADA's Eco City Two Extension scheme in New Chandigarh will not launch on time. Its launch has been deferred, and no new date has been given. The Hindustan Times reported the hold on the ninth of October.
What the report says
The report says the proposed launch "has also been put on hold". Further down, it says the launch "has now been deferred".
It quotes a senior officer of Punjab's housing and urban development department, who asked not to be named. The officer said a decision on the launch of various projects "will be taken after some time".
The report ties the hold to caution in the department after the Enforcement Directorate's search at GMADA in September.
What was planned
The scheme covers about ninety-six acres in Hoshiyarpur village, New Chandigarh. It would be GMADA's eighth township.
It was to offer a hundred and thirty-five residential plots of one kanal and eighteen of two kanals. These plots were to be given out through a draw of lots.
Commercial sites in the scheme were to be sold by auction.
Launch targets that slipped
This launch has been promised before. In August two thousand and twenty-five, The Times of India reported that the scheme was slated for a September launch that year. No launch followed.
On the first of January this year, the Hindustan Times reported that GMADA expected to launch the scheme by February. That target passed too.
The latest report says the launch had been scheduled for September this year. It is now on hold.
What is still unknown
No new launch date has been given. The officer quoted did not offer one.
The report says nothing about refunds. No report found says GMADA ever invited applications for this scheme. So there is no sign of application money held for it.
No GMADA notice found sets out a price for the plots. The report also does not say whether the plot numbers or the draw will stay as planned.
What a launch would look like
A launch would come as a public notice from GMADA inviting applications. That notice would list the plots on offer and their price.
Until such a notice appears, the scheme exists only as a plan.

क्या योजना बनाई गई थी
यह योजना न्यू चंडीगढ़ के होशियारपुर गांव में लगभग छियानवे एकड़ में फैली है। यह GMADA की आठवीं टाउनशिप होगी।
इसमें एक कनाल के एक सौ पैंतीस आवासीय प्लॉट और दो कनाल के अठारह प्लॉट देने थे। ये प्लॉट ड्रॉ ऑफ लॉट्स के जरिए दिए जाने थे।
योजना में व्यावसायिक साइटें नीलामी द्वारा बेची जानी थीं।
लॉन्च के लक्ष्य जो चूक गए
यह लॉन्च पहले भी वादा किया गया है। अगस्त दो हज़ार पच्चीस में, द टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया ने रिपोर्ट किया था कि योजना उस वर्ष सितंबर में लॉन्च होनी थी। कोई लॉन्च नहीं हुआ।
इस वर्ष पहली जनवरी को, हिंदुस्तान टाइम्स ने रिपोर्ट किया कि GMADA को फरवरी तक योजना लॉन्च करने की उम्मीद थी। वह लक्ष्य भी बीत गया।
नवीनतम रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, लॉन्च इस वर्ष सितंबर के लिए निर्धारित था। यह अब रोक पर है।
अभी क्या अज्ञात है
कोई नई लॉन्च तारीख नहीं दी गई है। उद्धृत अधिकारी ने भी कोई तारीख नहीं बताई।

लॉन्च कैसा दिखेगा
लॉन्च GMADA की ओर से एक सार्वजनिक नोटिस के रूप में आएगा जिसमें आवेदन आमंत्रित किए जाएंगे। उस नोटिस में उपलब्ध प्लॉट और उनकी कीमत सूचीबद्ध होगी।
जब तक ऐसा नोटिस प्रकाशित नहीं होता, योजना केवल एक योजना के रूप में मौजूद है।

ਕੀ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਅਣਜਾਣ ਹੈ
ਕੋਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਲਾਂਚ ਤਾਰੀਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਹਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸੀ।
